If there are any questions, feel free to DM me on Discord at ‘DatBoyUchiha’. Wanted to create a possibly up-to-date doc that can help for players that want to learn Shiki.

Currently, I’m going to add routing based on what I remember, including ones that utilize Moon Skills. You are free to work on & apply any route that is comfortable to you and that you see fit, as long as you're having fun! 🙂

Notation Guideline

image.png

This doc will use Numpad Notation for directions.

MBTL Specific Notation:

RB & RBL : Rapid Beat and Rapid Beat Launcher. RBL means doing the sequence in its entirety, meaning doing the advancing slashes and then the actual launcher, while RB is just the advancing slashes. The input depends on your preferred Rapid Beat settings. For example, On or Air Off is 5A~A~X while On (A+B) is 5A > AB~X AT : Air Throw (j.6AD/j.4AD) [X] : Fully Charged Attacks, referred to in game as Blowback Edge. ×N : Repeating inputs (e.g. 2A×3 means to press 2A three times) dj.X : Double Jump Attack, often preceded by a cancel (>) to notate a double jump cancel dl : Delay. (j.[C] > dl j.B means to delay the j.B cancel after j.[C]) X(w) : Whiffing the attack.

: Cancel (e.g. 5B > 5C means to cancel 5B into 5C) , : Link (e.g. 236A, 2C means to link 2C after 236A) ~ : Chain. Used for specific moves with follow-ups (e.g. 214A~A)

Moon Skills will be hightlighted in blue, while EX Specials will be highlighted in yellow. Arc Drive & Last Arc will be highlighted in purple.

Enders

Note: 3C and RBL are interchangeable, but we’ll be using RBL because it’s the more common route and RB is almost always used when setting up Metered Enders. (Defer to your personal Rapid Beat Settings to determine how RBL is input.)

Meterless:

NOTE: For these routes, omitting the any j.As is okay but you will lose out on damage and meter gain.

Metered:

RB > 236A/623X/214A > 236C (Midscreen)

RB > 236A/623X/214A(~A) > 236C, 3C > j.A×2 > j.B > j.C > Airdash > AT (Corner)

RB > 236A/623X/214A > 236BC (Anywhere, Arc Drive Ender)

RB > 236A/623X/214A > 236C > 236BC (Anywhere, 4 bar dump)

For any safejump or mixup setup information, please refer to the Strategy page's Okizeme section on the Mizuumi wiki.

A Starter Combos

2A Midscreen

NOTE: 5A and 2A are interchangeable. We’ll only notate 2A, but 5A is just as applicable no matter the situation. Of course, the one you don’t use as a starter will be the one you use to extend with later. 3C and RBL are interchangeable here as well, and only RBL will be displayed since it’s the more common route.

Notes 💡

2A > 2B > 5C > 2C > 214B~B > j.[C] > 623A > 5A > 5B > ENDER

Nothing notably special about this route. Depending on your distance to the corner, you should defer to using the 2A Corner Enders instead.

2A Corner

<aside> 🗡️

2A > 2B > 5C > 2C > 214B~B > j.[C] > 623A, 5A > 5B > ENDER

Notes 💡 Before every Ender, you’ll use 236C to spend meter. The 623B > 236C Ender gives you a hard knockdown if you dont want to transition into the air route.

Damage ⚔️ & Meter Gain🔵

2A Corner Optimal

<aside> 🗡️

2A > 2B > 5C > 2C > 214B~B > j.[C] > dl j.B > 5B > 623A, 5A > 5B > RB > 214A~A > 236C, 3C > j.A×2 > j.B > j.C > Airdash > AT

Notes 💡 This route only works with the listed Ender.

Damage ⚔️ & Meter Gain🔵 4044 Damage, +0.97 Meter

Air Hit 2A > 5B > 5C > 236A, 2C > dl 6BC >j.[C] > 623A, 5A > 2B(1) > RB > 214A~A > 236C, 3C > j.A×2 > j.B > j.C > Airdash > AT

Notes 💡 Difficult route to confirm due to prorate after the j.[c] into 623A

Damage ⚔️ & Meter Gain🔵 4042 Damage, +1.05 Meter

2A > 2C Midscreen

<aside> 🗡️

2A > 2C > 5C > 214B~B > j.[C] > 623A, 5A > 5B > 2B(1) > ENDER

Notes 💡 This route starts as another string you can use for blockstrings as well as off of an option select to catch backdashes, in which case the 2C will catch and that will be your starter (Refer to 2C Starters for that route.)
